Fish Ambulthiyal paste is a spice mixture used in the preparation of a traditional Sri Lankan fish curry called Fish Ambulthiyal. Here's how to use the paste:
Marinate the fish: First, clean and dry the fish and then apply the paste to it, making sure to coat it evenly. Cover the fish and let it marinate for at least an hour, or up to 4-6 hours in the refrigerator.
Cook the fish: To cook the fish, heat a pan with a little bit of oil over medium heat. Once the pan is hot, add the marinated fish and cook for several minutes on each side until browned and cooked through. Alternatively, the fish can be cooked in a clay pot over low heat with additional spices and ingredients.
Serve and enjoy: Once the fish is cooked, it can be served with rice and other Sri Lankan side dishes. The Fish Ambulthiyal paste will give the fish a tangy and slightly spicy flavor that pairs well with the rice and other accompaniments.
Note that Fish Ambulthiyal is a spicy and sour dish, so adjust the amount of chili powder and goraka paste to your preference.
